Here are tips that employers following to protect themselves and their employees from the damage caused by industrial deafness.

First of all, the employees should be provided with the right quality of hearing protectors. It is fine to wait for the employees to ask for these hearing protectors but it would be better if you take the initiative to give the said tool to them, especially when they are exposed to too much noise. The exposure to high level noises can be reduced with hearing protectors.

Since you are providing the employees with the hearing protectors, better see to it that they are using them properly. It is even more recommended for them to wear the hearing protectors if they are exposed to noise that already exceeds the upper threshold for the exposure action values. It is a way to protect their ears properly.

The employers should also take the initiative in identifying which zones in the work place should be tagged as the hearing protection zones. These are the areas where it should be compulsory to wear the hearing protection gears. Mark all of these hearing protection zones with the right signs. That way, the workers will know they will be exposed to high levels of noise and they can protect themselves.

Be sure to provide all of the employees with sufficient training and info on the usage and care of the hearing protectors. This is so that you can ensure that these protectors are used the right way. The maintenance of the hearing protector must also be ensured as this is what allows the employees to make good use of the hearing protector for a long period of time.

It can be a big savings for industries susceptible to high levels of noises when they protect themselves against claims of industrial deafness compensation before even one happens.
